Opening an account
Wholesale ordering is available to retail shops in the U.S.
Submitting an application does not automatically guarantee acceptance - each application is manually reviewed.
Here are some requirements and other things I consider:
- The store must be brick-and-mortar, or have a regular pop-up schedule, or be in-process of opening.
- The store must also have some kind of online presence. This could be a website, social media page(s), Google business listing, or even a news article.
- The website and social media page(s) MUST clearly display the store's FULL ADDRESS, including city and state, and operating hours. (I WILL ask you to fix this if you don't have it).
- Approved retail partners may sell Cruelty-Free Stitchery products on their own websites, but online-only stores are generally not accepted.
- The store location cannot be too close to an existing stockist. This is on a case-by-case basis, but basically ensures you're not competing with the shop down the street.
- The store must align with the eco-friendly mission. Both in-store and online.
- And the store must overall be a "good fit" for Cruelty-Free Stitchery's products and target audience.
If you would like to apply, please fill out this form. I will be in contact shortly!
Order minimums
Minimum first order is $130, and $100 after that.
(If you previously purchased from me on Faire, that counts as the first order!)
Most products have a minimum order quantity of 1, but I encourage you to stock at least 2 or 3 of each SKU.
It's impossible to find your best-seller if there's only one of each, and the shelves will look a little bare. And there's this weird thing where customers do not like to take the "last one" of something.
Trust me, I've been at this for a while.
Of course you are welcome to order one of each to test them out, and then re-order your favorites!
I do not have a minimum annual spend or anything like that. The stockist list is reviewed every month, and stores that have not ordered in the last 6 months will be removed without notice. If you are removed from the stockist list, you are still able to order, and I will add the store back to the list. This is to ensure customers aren't traveling to a store that may not have the products they want.
Pricing
I don't do the standard 50/50 wholesale split, but instead do 60/40. This allows us to offer a more accessible price point.
(Take the wholesale price and divide by 0.6 to get the MSRP).
I do offer free shipping on all wholesale orders placed through my website!
Any sales or offers on the retail website do NOT apply to wholesale.
You may not list Cruelty-Free Stitchery products online lower than MSRP.
Lead times / shipping
Lead times can vary, based on material availability. This is a one-woman show, so I make things as fast as I can!
Most products are made-to-order so I can give you the widest selection possible.
I aim to fulfill wholesale orders within two weeks, and only ship on Tuesdays and Fridays to reduce trips to the post office. In the rare event that something is unavailable or backordered, I will email you ASAP.
All wholesale orders placed on my website ship free, using the cheapest service available (typically USPS if you're in the mid-Atlantic area, UPS everywhere else). If you need me to use a certain carrier, please let me know at checkout and I will invoice for the difference in cost.
Most orders ship in reused boxes with reused packing paper and recycle-compatible paper tape. I do my best to ship plastic-free, but opt to leave plastic shipping tape on the box if it's still in good condition.
Content use / social promos
You may use my product images from the listings for your online store. Please do not use other images from around the website or social media without permission.
Lots of stores feature a short bio and photo of makers for their store display - please ask me for this instead of taking them from my website. (Examples of other bios are very helpful for me!)
I try to share and engage with Instagram posts from my stockists! Please tag me @crueltyfreestitchery if you feature Cruelty-Free Stitchery products. I have customers and followers all over the country that love to shop locally and avoid shipping, so this is a win-win!
Packaging / product details
Most products will be packaged, with only paper and recycle-compatible hot glue or a staple.
(Currently the only unpackaged product is the Soap Savers).
All packaging will have a space on the back for a 1x1" label.
On your first order (and subsequent reorders with a new product type) I will include a printed fact sheet about the product(s) for you and your staff to review.
If you ever have a damaged product, like if the label gets ripped or wet, don't damage out the whole thing! I am more than happy to send a new label.
Avoid displaying the NonPaper Towels and Cotton Rounds in wicker or wire baskets, as they can snag. NonPaper Towels can sit upright on a shelf, Cotton Rounds can be stacked or leaned against something.
Preorders / custom orders
If you would like to do a pre-order before placing an order with me, please ask in advance so I can make sure I will have enough stock.
Occasionally I will do pre-orders, but only for restocks of current, popular items. Any pre-order items will be noted on the listing title with "PRE-ORDER - ships xyz date." If your order contains both in-stock and pre-order items, I will hold the in-stock items and ship when they are all ready.
Custom orders are done on a case-by-case basis, and will always require much higher minimums than ordering "off the rack" so to speak.
(I will not make anything with licensed characters or teams. Maryland flag fabric for the NonPaper Towels does not exist. Those are the most common requests I get lol).
There are products on my retail website that are not available for wholesale - this is due to supply issues, low margins, or other factors. If it's on my retail website and not listed on the wholesale portal, then it is not available for wholesale pricing.
Samples / testers
Testers of certain NonPaper Towels are available - I HIGHLY recommend at least one tester (which is just a single unpackaged towel) so customers can see the size and feel the material.
(Display sets and tester listing coming soon! For now, request a tester in the note section at checkout).
If you would like to order samples and you have not yet placed a wholesale order, or have not applied for an account - please order through the regular website.
If you are a current wholesale customer, and would like to add a sample of a product you haven't ordered before (i.e. you are ordering NonPaper Towels and want a sample of a Reusable Snack Bag) please add a note at checkout. This will be a random print only, based on availability. Limit one sample per product type per customer.
Questions / concerns
Many of my wholesale customers have asked if there's a way to shop directly instead of on Faire, and this is it!
This wholesale portal is very new to Shopify, and obviously is new to me as well (as of May 2026).
Unfortunately it's not super customizable, so the product pages and other pages on the site are set up for retail customers, so they may be entirely irrelevant to you.
If you have questions, concerns, or general feedback, please email me at abby (at) crueltyfreestitchery (dot) com - or reply directly to any email you've received from me. While you're at it - add that email address to your contacts so my emails don't go to spam.
